  • Report on 2016 West Coast Prospects Camp

Report on 2016 West Coast Prospects Camp

The 8th Annual West Coast Prospects Camp was held Saturday and Sunday September 3-4 at North Delta High School in Delta, British Columbia. In addition the Friday Night Showdown was held September 2 with top 2017 and 2018 players in an all-star game.  Here is a report on both events.

Top Prospects:  (*indicates high consideration for this category)

*6'10" C                     Fardaws Amiaq of Steveston- London HS             2017    (Team #4)

Amique is a five man with nice post up skills. He can dribble operate on the block, has a real nice turnaround no-jump hook and a solid drop step. He can use his left hand a little around the basket. He is a capable and willing passer who sees the court well from the low post. He handles it a little and has a decent one-bounce drive. He can rebound fairly well in his area. Amique is a division I prospect – just a question of what level he ends up at…

6'5" G/W                    Adam Paige of Semiahmoo HS                                2018    (Showdown)

Paige is a wing man who shows all-around skills offensively. He handles it ok, passes it fairly well and can finish in transition. He pulls up in the half court ok, can get to the basket on the drive (has a hesitation move) and has a pretty good floater. Paige probably needs to prove himself as a perimeter shooter.

6'2" CG                      Tanner Sandberg of North Peace HS                     2017    (Team #1)

Sandberg is a combo guard with a solid all-around skill set. He’s a confident ball handler and a good passer who makes plays in transition consistently (and shows the ability to finish on the break). He pulls up ok in the half court and has a nice floater drive. He can shoot the ball fairly well with 3-point range and takes good shots. Sandberg’s best assets are his motor and competitiveness.

6'2" CG                      Caelan Scott of Oak Bay HS                                    2018    (Team #4)
