Report on UK-USA Showcase – English Prospects

 

The USA-UK showcase was held August 15-20 in London and Brighton, England under the direction of former US Division I head coach Joe Callero and Tom Ward of BTM tours. This report covers the English prospects who showed college potential for the United States at some level.

 

Top Prospects:

 

6’2 SG Melchi Egbeymi of Barking Abbey 2025

Egbeyemi is an athletic shooting guard with long arms and some strength. He shoots the ball fairly well from long range and he has a nice mid-range pull-up. He can also rebound from the guard position.

 

6’6 SG/SF Sebastian Elias-Muchitsch of Sussex Storm 2024 (Austrian National Team)

Muchitsch is a guard/wing with an impressive all-around skill set and some athleticism/strength. He can score inside and outside with his versatility. He handles it ok and can finish in transition. He moves well without the ball and is a good 3-point shooter and an ok driver. He is a solid post up player who can dribble operate and has an effective drop step. And he finds ways to come up with rebounds. Muchitsch is a legitimate Division I prospect.

 

6’5 SF Seb Emenalo of BTM Select Yellow 2025 (NBA Global Academy Australia/England National Team)

Emenalo is a small forward with an impressive all-around skill set and athleticism and long arms. While his release is a little slow, he can shoot it fairly well and has 3-point range. He has a nice first step on the drive and gets by defenders consistently. He’s also a good passer who finds the open man. Emenalo is a sure-fire Division I prospect who was selected MVP of the 18U Division (and deservedly so).

 

6’5 PF Tyler Fairbairn of Barking Abby 2023

Fairbairn is a solid all-around four man who comes to play. He is productive as an inside/outside scorer. He can pass the ball and he does a consistent job as a face-up driver. He has a solid drop step on the block and he is a quality rebounder. Fairbairn has received interest from Division I school.

 

6’7 C Tyrone Iroghama of Barking Abbey 2023

Iroghama is an active and athletic five man with some explosiveness. He can elevate and finish inside and he is a decent face-up driver. He is a good rebounder who will pursue the ball at both ends and he can block a shot defensively. His post-up skills do need some polish. Iroghama will be attending Bossier Parish Junior College in Louisiana.

 

6’2 SG Simeon Iwowu of Barking Abbey 2025(England National Team)

Iwowu is an athletic two guard who runs very well. He handles it ok and is a really nice passer. He is an excellent shooter with long range who will destroy you if you give him any freedom.

 

5’9 PG Tyrese Lacey of BTM Select Yellow 2024 (Layton Christian Academy USA/ England National Team)

Lacey is a fairly athletic one man who can run the floor and is a real energizer. He’s a solid ball handler and real good passer who pushes the break consistently. In the half court he can penetrate into the lane and make plays. He’s also a solid on-ball defender.

 

6’8 C Buai Luak of Milton Keunes 2024 (Finland National Team)

Luak is a five-man with long arms who can get things done inside. He dribble operates pretty well and has a solid jump hook that is difficult to defend. He’s also a consistent rebounder.

 

6’8 PF Ben Michaels of BTM Select Yellow 2024 (Long Island Lutheran USA/ England National Team)

Michaels is a four man with long arms who can run the floor. He’s a decent ball handler and passer who is an ok face-up driver with the ability to finish with contact. And he is a solid rebounder who is active on the glass. Micheals is a Division I prospect.

 

6’5 PF/SF Milo Murray of Richmond Knights 2027 (Germany National Team)

Murray is a fairly athletic combo forward with long arms with some versatility to play inside and outside. He can handle the ball and he does attack in transition. In the half-court he has a nice spin move on the block and a capable floater shot.

 

6’5 PF Chris Nzuzi of Barking Abbey 2024

Nzuri is an active and athletic from four-man with long arms who gets a lot done. He handles and passes it ok and he is an efficient scorer who moves well without it. He has a competent mid-range pull up and he shoots it fairly well with a quick release. And he can catch and shoot and also let it go off the dribble. And he will pursue rebounds at both ends.

 

6’3 CG Di’Jani Parkinson of City of London Academy 2023 (England National Team)

Parkinson is an athletic combo guard with burst who handles it well. He can (consistently) create opportunities for himself and his teammates. He is a very nice driver with a solid first step and he can shoot it ok with range.

 

6’7 C Tyrese Perry-Huggies of Ipswich Basketball Academy 2024 (England National Team)

Perry-Huggins is a five man with good physical attributes. He has long arms, big feet and some athleticism. He can bounce it and beat defenders on the face up drive from the mid-range area and he is a good passer as well. He’s a pretty consistent rebounder who will pursue the ball.

 

6’3 SG/SF/PF Tejan Ruggette of Richmond Knights 2027 (Uganda National Team /Western Reserve USA)

Ruggette is an impressive young prospect with a good physical make-up and the ability to play anywhere on the perimeter. He has athleticism, long arms and big feet. He finishes very well on the break and on the drive in the half court with a good first step. He does need to prove himself as a perimeter shooter. He is a solid rebounder and he plays in attack mode. Ruggette is a legit Division I prospect with some promise.

6’5 SF Joe Buchanan of Manchester Magic 2024 (England National Team)

Buchanan  is a wing/guard who is a pretty competent scorer. He’s a capable ball handler who can pull up in the mid-range and he can shoot it with long range. And he plays with a lot of confidence.

 

6’0 CG Kyle Capanzana of London Youngblood 2025 (England National Team)

Capazana is a combo guard who is a decent athlete that can run the floor. He is a solid ball handler and passer who sees the floor and runs a team. He is an ok 3-point shooter who has an ok floater in the lane.

 

6’1 PG Makita Chiware of Sussex Storm 2023

Chiware is a stocky one-man with a strong body and some athleticism. He’s a solid handler who takes care of the ball well and he is an ok 3-point shooter.

 

6’3 SG Moziah Danchie of Barking Abbey 2024 (England National Team)

Danchie is a two guard with fairly good athleticism and offensive skills. He handles it well, shoots it ok with 3 range and has a solid mid-range pull up.

 

6’3 CF Obinna Ekufu of London Youngblood 2025 (England National Team)

Ekufu is a (under sized) combo forward with long arms and big feet who is very athletic and springy. He moves well without the ball but his offense skills are a little raw and need polish. Defensively he hedges ball screens well and can block a shot despite his lack of size. He does a nice job pursuing rebounds.

 

6’3 CG Lewis Gleason of Sussex Storm 2024 (Wales National Team)

Gleason is a combo guard who can run the floor and make things happen. He’s a good ball handler and passer who is a confident 3-point shooter and he has a solid mid-range pull up. He does a little (too much) yapping on the court.

 

5’10 PG Harry Godwin of Richmond Knights/ Barking Abby 2024 (England National Team)

Goodwin is a strong-bodied one-man with ok athleticism. He can handle it and he does an ok job making plays on the break. In the half court he penetrates ok and consistently finds a way to the hoop on the drive with a nice first step.

 

5’10 CG Rafi Jalloh of Sussex Storm 2026 (England National Team)

Jalloh is a fairly athletic combo guard who can impact the game at both ends. He’s  a solid ball handler who gets to the hoop on the drive consistently well. And he does a nice job as an on-ball defender at the other end.

 

*6’5 PF Edward Onyia of Charnwood Riders 2024 (England National Team)

Onyia is a versatile four-man with an impressive physical make-up. He is strong and has long arms, big feet and some athleticism. He prefers to play on the perimeter facing the basket and he can beat the defender on the face-up drive. He is a good passer who will find the open man consistently. He moves well without it and he is a decent 3-point shooter. He shows a capable turnaround shot on the block. He is an active rebounder who will pursue the ball.

 

*6’1 SG Gonzalo Rodrigues of Richmond Knights 2024

Rodriques is a two-guard who can really shoot the ball (and has long range). He shoots with confidence and has a fairly quick release. He can handle the ball and run the floor and does a nice job finishing in transition. He has an ok floater and can pull up in the mid-range.

 

5’11 SG Bali Szilvagyi of Susex Storm 2024

Szilvagyi is a versatile two-guard who impacts the game in a lot of ways. He can handle and pass it and does a nice job finishing in transition. In the half court he scores just about every way possible with perimeter shooting (3-range), driving to the hoop and posting up some.

 

5’10 PG Ancel Torres of Sussex Storm 2025 (England National Team)

Torres is a one-man with some athleticism and skill. He’s a confident ball handler and a good passer who can score and also distribute. He’s an ok shooter (3 range) with a solid mid-range pull up and an ok floater. He has a sneaky first step on the drive.

 

6’4 PF Montell Roberts of London Youngbloods 2025

Roberts is an athletic four man with long arms who is under-sized best manage to get a lot done. He handles it ok and can finish in transition. He’s a decent face-up drive who is more comfortable on the perimeter. He is a quality rebounder who can block a shot.

 

*6’1 PG/SG Amarlie Wilkinson of Barking Abbey 2024

Wilkinson is a guard with nice athleticism and a solid all-around skill set. He is primarily a one-man but does some ability to play off the ball as a two-man. He is a good ball handler and passer who is a solid playmaker in transition. He pulls up consistently well in the mid-range. And he is a hard worker at the defensive end.
