Report on 2025 West Coast Showcase

The 16th Annual West Coast Showcase was held Sunday, October 26th, 2025, at Pinetree Community Center in Coquitlam, British Columbia, under the direction of Matt McKay, head coach of Douglas College. Here is a report on the event with the prospect that attracted our attention.

Top Prospects: (*indicates highest consideration for this category)

*5’5 CG Hunter Braun of Agassiz Secondary 2029 (BC 7)
Braun is a competent combo guard with some burst who can run. He’s an efficient ball handler who doesn’t make many mistakes. His best asset is his pull-up game in the mid-range. He can get to the hoop on the drive, and he has an ok floater. Braun needs to prove he can shoot it from the perimeter.

*6’0 PG Lucas Campbell of Oak Bay HS 2028 (BC 6)
Campbell is an efficient one-man with a nice all-around skill set. He is a solid ball handler who sees the floor in transition and can find the open man consistently. He has an impressive pull-up game in the mid-range. Campbell shoots it ok with 3-point range, drives it well, and has a solid floater.

6’2 CG Mateo Ducheck of Summerland HS 2027 (BC 3)
Ducheck is a skilled combo guard who brings a lot to the table. He can handle it and is a capable playmaker in transition who pulls up well on the break. He’s a good driver who shoots it well (3 range) and has an ok floater. Ducheck can rebound well from the guard spot and is comfortable playing on or off the ball.

6’11 C Luka Guzina of Tamanawis HS 2026 (Newton)
Guzina is a true five-man who can score in different ways on the block. He has a drop step, a mini jump hook, and a spin move, and uses each with confidence. He passes it fairly well when faced with a double team. Guzina needs to develop strength to better finish insid,e but he is a bona-fide college prospect.

6’3 G/W Marcus Payne of Delta Secondary 2027 (BC 1)
Payne is a fairly athletic guard/wing who can run the floor all day long. He can put it down and get to the basket pretty well on the drive. His best asset is his ability to shoot it (with 3-point range). Payne is also an ok rebounder.

5’10 SG Joshua Roux of GW Graham HS 2027 (BC 2)
Roux is a tough and competitive, strong-bodied two guard who gets things done. He is in perpetual motion in the half-court, making him a difficult guy to cover. He is very clever at finishing around the hoop. He is also a competent rebounder at both ends. Roux just needs to prove himself as a perimeter shooter.

6’3 SF Fin Stewart of Kelowna Secondary 2026 (WCS 1)
Stewart is an energetic three-man who can run the floor. He gets a lot done with the ball in his hands. He’s very effective finishing in transition. He’s a solid ball handler and good passer who can also make plays for others. Stewart’s best asset is a sneaky first-step ability to drive to the hoop. He’s also a capable rebounder.

6’1 CG Isaac Tou of Abbotsford Secondary 2027 (BC 1)
Tou is a versatile combo guard who can make plays on the break and in the half-court. He’s a confident ball handler who sees the floor in transition. He has a nice mid-range pull-up up and he gets to the hoop on the drive effectively. Tou is a good one to have on your side.

5’10 CG Brandon Tse of St George’s Secondary 2028 (LTS 2)
Tse is a combo guard who pushes the envelope on the break and can finish at the end. He sees the floor and is a willing and able passer. He drives it well and shoots it ok with some range. Tse never stops running and never seems to get tired.
